Shop Tour
Thanks for joining us on the tour around Pinkee's Rod Shop.
You will see here how your dream car will be taken care of as your project
progresses through the shop. Drop on in anytime to take a tour in person
and see first hand how we pride ourselves in cleanliness, organization and
quality.

Showroom - Walk in to the Pinkee's Rod Shop showroom and you'll be greeted
by a 1950's Seeburg jukebox filled with classic tunes. In the showroom
you will see Eric's personal Chevelle project showing off some of the
metal work that Pinkee's is capable of as well as part of Bill Peratt's
oil can collection and other automobilia collected by Eric throughout the
years.
Viewing Room - When a customer commissions Pinkee's to build a car a
meeting of the minds takes place and ideas are generated. Those ideas are
given to an artist who provides sketches of the ideas that eventually
turns into the final rendering. Artists also work on interior sketches as
well as other details of the car that may need special attention. These
sketches are hung in the viewing room for the customer to review and make
decisions on the direction of the project.
Light Fab Shop - Mechanical work, chassis work, light fabrication,
blasting, grinding and polishing take place in the light fab shop area.
This area also serves as parts storage when cars are disassembled. Some
of the equipment in this area includes a sheer, break, mill, lathe, bead
blaster and polisher.
Heavy Fab Shop - Here is where the hardcore cutting, chopping and grinding takes place.
Tops are chopped, floors are made, doors are gapped and fitted, engines
are set in place and tranny tunnels are cut. Some of the heavy metal
working equipment you will find in this area includes; Pullmax, power
hammer, sheer, shrinker/stretcher, grinder, and bandsaw.
Assembly Room - After the heavy fabrication is complete, a car will leave
Pinkee's for the paint shop. Once back from paint the car will go to the
assembly room to steer clear of metal shavings and grinding dust landing
on fresh, shiny paint jobs. The assembly room is equipped with a toolbox
filled with wiring supplies, shelves filled with shiny chrome and polished
parts, and a large supply of chrome nuts, bolts, and washers to secure
everything on the car.
